This large-eyed, brown-eared, orange mouse debuted on the German children’s TV show Die Sendung mit der Maus (The Show with the Mouse) in 1971. Along with friends Elefant the elephant, and Ente the duck, they have been showing children how the world around them is made and how things work, and this programme soon became the most popular of its type in the country. Die Sendung mit der Maus and its star Maus have become German national treasures, known and loved by all!
Localized episodes of this programme were broadcast in Japan in 2005 under the title Daisuki! Maus on NHK educational, and have since also been broadcast on Cartoon Network.
Proving that one is never too old to learn, many adults enjoy the unique style of this animated series and its star as well!
