In 1759, Arthur Guinness signed a 9000 year lease for use of the St. James’ Gate Brewery in Ireland.
Approximately 200 years later, modern draft Guinness was born. A new dispensing system using a nitrogen/carbon dioxide gas mixture gave the beer a velvety smooth texture and sales of Guinness instantly rocketed. People loved the intricate taste that was achieved and it was an outstanding success.
